LOS ANGELES (October 24, 2006) – Dr. Richard J. Paulson and Dr. Karine Chung of USC Fertility, the non-profit fertility practice of the University of Southern California, will launch into National Infertility Awareness Week (October 29-November 4) by taking part in the “15th Annual Fall Infertility & Adoption Symposium: Infertility & Family Building Options” hosted by the Southwest Region of RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association.
Held Saturday, October 28, 2006 at Covel Commons in UCLA’s Sunset Village, the event will provide attendees the opportunity to learn from and meet with infertility experts, adoption professionals, mental health professionals, and complementary health practitioners. The symposium offers attendees the opportunity to ask questions, explore options, and learn more about how they can build a family via five consecutive sessions from 10 AM to 5 PM.
“I can’t think of a better way to kick off National Infertility Awareness Week,” says USC Fertility director Paulson. “With over 1 million people experiencing infertility in our Southwest region alone, there is a lot of awareness building and educational efforts to undertake. USC Fertility has made a point of participating in RESOLVE’s annual fall symposium since its inception. We’ve done so because we strongly believe in this event, a gathering that empowers the men and women who attend by providing invaluable, state-of-the-art information on a matter that is of vital importance to them: how to make additions to their family.”
In Session 1, from 10-11 AM, USC Fertility’s Dr. Karine Chung will present “Navigating Your Treatment.” In Session 3, from 1:30-2:30 PM, USC Fertility’s Dr. Richard Paulson will present “New Advances in IVF.”
Dr. Paulson and Dr. Chung are both available for interviews concerning this event in particular, or to talk about National Infertility Awareness Week in general. To schedule, please contact Daniel Vaillancourt at 323-969-8900.
